KLAC Championships

Blake had a fantastic day at the Athletics track yesterday. He competed in 4 events...400 Metre run, Long Jump, Triple Jump and 70 Metre run. We arrived bright and EARLY to the track. Weather was VERY cold and rain was upon us but we hoped it would hold off for the day. We do need rain but hard to compete on a wet track. Blake placed 1st place in all his events and walked away with a whopping 4 GOLD Medals. We are so proud of him. It did end up raining, however not hard enough for them to call the track meet. It was Freezing though!! Blake also ran Personal Bests in two events ..the long jump and triple jump ...so a job well done. We have a Knox Presentation Day today and Blake will receive his Gold medal. He holds 37 personal bests. The Club President approached me to confirm that he will be running with the club next year and praised his athletic abilities which I thought was very nice.
He will start Cross Country next month so that is exciting. They run in all different park locations around the Knox area. Nick is a very proud Dad. He specialised in athletics when he was young too. He still holds a Doncaster High School Club Record in the long jump after 28 years or so. Nick's friend.. Ashley...his son Justen who goes to that high school... told us not to long ago that he still held it lol. Nick was very proud indeed . Now Blake needs to break that long jump record. Anyway, Enough of my boasting..I will get off my soap box and head off to the presentation day. Will let ya know how he did. Chat soon

Blake gets his First Blood Test

Hello everyone... Well, we were up bright and early this morning to head down to the Gribbles Pathology Lab to get blood tests. I thought I was very clever to get there early to beat the crowd..YEAH RIGHT...approx. 20 people ahead of me. Oh well...we took our number and sat to wait.. Thanks to Alison she has taught me SUDUKO and I had it on my phone ..so was a great time killer. Imagine what I have gone thru already just to get Master Blake to this appointment.I had to try to reassure him it wasn't going to hurt, he would survive and he was very brave. However...he begged to differ with me ...Blatantly told me he is not Brave ..so maybe we could just forget about it! lol But of course, he did as he was told ( I know you all are very impressed about his behaviour and minding skills). Chez was our resident vampire and she was awesome with Blake. She had quite the personality and he felt very comfortable with her. I said I would go first but she said No... the child must go first lol. Blake didn't like that but he hesitantly got up in that chair and did as Chez told him too. After it was all over...she gave him a Bravery Certificate which was pretty special to a little child..I was thinking forget that crap WHERE"S THE LOLLIES?? lol I on the other hand got a big fat NOTHING! Now how unfair is that lol. And I did point out that she took more blood from me than Blake..she just laughed and shook her head...Still don't know what she was thinking lol. So now we wait for 48 hours to get results. Should be interesting..

After a little grocery shopping ( Which is not the most exciting thing to do with a 7 year old with a case of the " I Wants"!) I finally got home to relax..only to then finish off the much needed house work that didn't get done on the weekend. Nick has rented a new release video for us tonight. The one with Kurt Russell "Death Proof" SCARY!!!! but looks good. Why is it all the good looking male movie stars get the low budget films once they start to age....very sad.. I will give you my critic's review once I watch it lol. Well, I will close now. We are off to see a movie with Kareen and kids tomorrow morning at 10:15 am and then lunch.. so should be fun. School holidays are well and truly in session! Have a great night and leave a message if you are reading this. Cheers kaz

First Term School Holidays Start Today

Good Morning all! I was able to have a little bit of a sleep in this morning ... which never happens for me but was well received after my long weekend with the Easter Carnival. I planned on doing a BIG FAT NOTHING but have decided to take the kids to a friends place for a play and lunch. Nothing better than to have the run of someone else's house and leave the chaos behind to head back home to a tidy , quiet home. LOL Mind you ...I have had many get together's at my house in the past and some times on my cleaning binges (they don't happen often enough.. so my hubby thinks) I may find a lollie wrapper or two from the past get together. A big pat on the back to me for surviving the weekend and being positive for the upcoming two weeks of holidays with the kids. We have a few things planned and should be interesting. Blake will have a big Athletics meet bright and early on Saturday morning. The KLAC Championships are quite a big event and hopefully the weather will be good ..because it has been for casted for much needed rain all week. He is very excited. He has broken 2 clubs records and also broke his own club record once lol. Michael Best held a 400 metre record of 123.36 for 4 years and Blake broke his record with a time of 121.50 in the 400 metre event. Tim O'Bryen held the 400 metre Walk record of 238.88 which he held for 7 years . Blake broke his 400 metre walk record with a time of 2.29.37 on March 1st, 2008 only to break his own club record a week later by a whopping 9 seconds . That new club record is 2.19.09. He is very quick and I say he is aerodynamic because he is so skinny lol. He loves Athletics and already has received lots of medals. We are very proud of both our kids. I truly believe kids and sports a great combination.
Well time to sign out. Will have to get the kids off the PlayStation 2 and organised. They don't often play so nicely together on that thing lol so hate to break up the sister and brotherly love I am witnessing at this moment (knowing it only lasts a short time). Mind you .. I am known to jump in and sing along on the Sing Star. Why don't my kids like to sing YMCA with me?? Or the Elvis tracks...lol I am an expert at those songs according to Sing Star..not sure if that's a good thing or not.. Chat soon :P

Easter Carnival at Jell's Park

My 4 day long weekend for Easter was spent being a Team Manager for the Waverley Blue Sox under 12 girls Softball Team. It was hard work but great fun. 12 games played and the team lost all games however, gained so much experience and did great for their first carnival. many new friends made and all the families were excellent helpers. The weather was fantastic but of course typical Karen skin....I came out looking like an Oompa Loompa.. no matter how much sun screen I applied loll. It was well worth the tiredness, sleep deprivation, bad hat head and pure exhaustion to see the big smiles on the girls faces. Lots of laughter (a few tears) Yuck food from the pavilion..but yummy Dippin Dots (ice cream for all those that don't know!) Oh and excellent coffees from the coffee van ..which was a pleasant surprise. Nothing compares to our Starbucks!!
Alissa did so well ..I am very proud of her. She is an EXCELLENT 1st base woman (let's be politically correct) and she was even able to hit several very fast pitches (those girls are unbelievable!) and scores a few runs and even slid into home plate! Was very exciting but everyone will be proud of me..I controlled myself loll..still have a voice to prove it however may have a couple undetected gray hairs after the weekend lol. if you see them please do not comment!! Anyway besides getting hugs from all the girls at the end I received a nice bottle of white wine (very thoughtful) and a nice little Waverley cooler bag with the details of the Carnival imprinted on it. I did end up riding my bike tonight for 5 kms ..love my new bike. but am now very tired and will head off to sleep. Catch you on the next blog!
