George Denis Patrick Carlin (May 12, 1937 – June 22, 2008) was an American stand-up comedian. He was also an actor and author, and he won five Grammy Awards for his comedy albums.[22]

Carlin was noted for his black humor as well as his thoughts on politics, the English language, psychology, religion, and various taboo subjects. Carlin and his "Seven Dirty Words" comedy routine were central to the 1978 U.S. Supreme Court case F.C.C. v. Pacifica Foundation, in which a narrow 5–4 decision by the justices affirmed the government's power to regulate indecent material on the public airwaves.

The first of his 14 stand-up comedy specials for HBO was filmed in 1977. In the 1990s and 2000s, Carlin's routines focused on the flaws in modern-day America. He often took on contemporary political issues in the United States and satirized the excesses of American culture. His final HBO special, It's Bad For Ya, was filmed less than four months before his death.

Carlin was placed second on the Comedy Central cable television network list of the 100 greatest stand-up comedians, ahead of Lenny Bruce and behind Richard Pryor.[23] He was a frequent performer and guest host on The Tonight Show during the three-decade Johnny Carson era, and was also the first person to host Saturday Night Live.

15th Anniversary November 20th - Balgownerie Spa

Nick and I celebrated our 15th Wedding Anniversary on the 20th of November! What an eventful 15 years we have had from our romance ,an American wedding, our relocation to Australia, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, Babies, Trials and tribulations, collecting wonderful friends and making many happy memories to look back on... I cannot wait to see what the next 15 years bring...it can only get better. He was the perfect choice and I love him to bits.

We had a wonderful weekend in Yarra Valley at the Balgownie Estate. I definitely encourage you all to visit. We had a relaxing massage and geisha bath and I had a much needed facial lol. It was relaxing and wonderful.

Rae's restaurant was wonderful and i can recommend their wines. Their staff was very friendly and helpful and the service all around was superb! I will definitely go again. perhaps a girls weekend next time. Come on ladies..tell me your thoughts after checking it out. Any way must go iron. UGH!! The only part of marriage that is questionable is my relationship with the iron lmao. xox Love kaz

School Holidays!

We have had a busy holiday period from school. Kids played basketball for three days at a clinic to brush up on their skills. They really enjoyed it and had some friends from school there as well. It was nice to know they were well taken care of while I have to work my contracted hours for the council. We went to see WallE and the Puppy movie that just started which was VERY funny. Jamie Lee Curtis looks remarkable in the movie. I always liked her in movies so nice to see her face.

We are off on a picnic and bike riding tomorrow at Cardinia Reserve and we will scout some Kanga Roos too. Will be nice to just sit and eat and drink a glass of wine...ok or two ! :P

Anyway i am stuffed had to work all day but am off the next 4 so woohoo. Chat soon Blog.... Kazza

Sunday Cropping with Friends

I had a great day at Matilda's Wedding Crop today. I even got something done which does not always happen cause I can't turn the tonsils OFF. Ok... I did whear my wedding stuff...well some of it that still fit .. like my earrings.. lol And Mrs Enlund looked dashing in her wedding attire too. It was a fun day even though I was a loser in the raffle stakes but A WINNER ON THE HOT TAMALI TRAIN. However... my dear friend Jacinta won an album and she is MUCH deserving of that win. She has completed 13 albums...I am SO IMPRESSED and she deserves a special award just for that!

I on the other hand will never be caught up let alone finish two albums. I have cropped for almost 9 years and have only one album completed with all covers on each page. I secretly deserve a pat on that back for that cause if you saw the state of my photos you would know it is harder than it looks. I do have many pages half completed which is a plus.

Thank you Matilda and Lisa for organising such a great day and the games were a fun addition. Can't wait till the next one. Matilda I want you to do a Halloween dress up crop .. Halloween is coming soon! I know..you probably have already organised one... Well off with my head..err off to my bed that is..I am tired and getting silly. Until we meet again my dear Blog...

Basketball Saturday

My eyes were wide open at 6AM this morning!! What the?? Hello Mr Insomnia ..it has been a while. But up I got and showered then got Mr Nick up too. WE ate and hurried to Blake's Basketball game which was a fantastic nail biter. It was a tie of 12 - 12. WE then met Peter and Matilda at Montania's in Mountain gate Shopping centre. It was YUM SCRUM and the company was great. It was good to see Peter feeling better.

We then jetted to the Rowville Community Centre to watch Miss Alimonster's game at 11:30 am. Another nail biter which we won 16 - 6. Looks like we are in the finals so VERY well played girls. We have the next 2 weeks off for school holidays and I have booked the kids in Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for Basketball skills with the Knox raiders. It should be fun for them while I work lol.

Nick and Mr Blake are now out in the garage putting together the new basketball ring we just purchased so will be interesting to watch them piece it together lol. I am off to make lunch but as promised i have added my blog for the day. It is Amanda's 40th birthday tonight and we are going to her party which should be fun fun. Anyway chat soon...

HACC - Aged Care Studies

I am enjoying my new adventure in the Aged Care 3 studies and Home Care. I have been out in the field now since first week in August and I am loving my clients. It has seen it's challenges but what a great feeling in helping others and giving back. I have been fortunate enough to have a few new Mothers which is a nice change. School is going very well with lots of homework and I am passing with flying colours. There have been 6 people who have dropped out .. so we are now schooling every other Monday. I have declined in picking up that day as a work day. I am tired and will use that as an extra study day. The council have been excellent so far to work for and really offer full support to us which is great.

I had an employee induction and had a buss ride around Knox municipality and was interesting to see all the historic sights. It was also nice to see what Knox has to offer us in the way of recreation, information, etc. My classmates are a nice bunch of people and we are all very different culturally. We get along very well and have already met for a lunch at an Irish pub which was nice. We plan to get together once a month for some down time. They are an interesting bunch and funny.

Anyway it's nice to see and spend time with you BLOG . I will try harder I promise.

Matilda's Birthday Book Exchange at Borders!

Matilda invited us all to a Birthday Book Exchange at Borders today. It was a lovely morning to meet at Gloria Jeans and have some of cake, coffee and frivolity. We drew numbers and received a book and I chose Tim Winton's "Breath". I can't wait to read it. There were some great books received and we talked about having another so we could exchange our new books with someone else. Matilda's friend Sam made a beautiful Book Worm cake. It was stunning and a nice surprise. The cake was huge and there was too much for our small party lol. It was such a nice morning and perhaps we have just started a new trend for our birthday catch ups.

Tim Winton's "Breath"

Description:

When paramedic Bruce Pike arrives too late to save a boy found hanged in his bedroom he senses immediately that this lonely death is an accident. Pike knows the difference between suicide and misadventure. He understands only too well the forces that can propel a kid toward oblivion. Not just because he's an ambulanceman but because of the life he's lived, the boy he once was, addicted to extremes, flirting with death, pushing every boundary in the struggle to be extraordinary, barely knowing where or how to stop. So begins a story about the damage you do to yourself when you're young and think you're immortal. In his first novel for seven years, Tim Winton has achieved a new level of mastery. Breath confirms him as one of the world's finest storytellers, whose work is both accessible and profound, relentlessly gripping and deeply moving. When paramedic Bruce Pike arrives too late to save a boy found hanged in his bedroom he senses immediately that this lonely death is an accident. MATILDA!!

My Dear Friend!!

Dear Blog

I know ..I know...it's been awhile. It's not that I haven't thought of you..but life has been hectic! I know it's an excuse and you should come first but...I will try harder I promise.. For those of you who do not know what a BLOG is...

A blog (a contraction of the term "Web log") is a Web site, usually maintained by an individual [1], with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse-chronological order. "Blog" can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog.

OK... so why is it that I know what it is!! but have a real issue of keeping it updated? I will make the time to keep you updated and here goes for my second entry of the day err.. evening!!
