School Holidays!

We have had a busy holiday period from school. Kids played basketball for three days at a clinic to brush up on their skills. They really enjoyed it and had some friends from school there as well. It was nice to know they were well taken care of while I have to work my contracted hours for the council. We went to see WallE and the Puppy movie that just started which was VERY funny. Jamie Lee Curtis looks remarkable in the movie. I always liked her in movies so nice to see her face.

We are off on a picnic and bike riding tomorrow at Cardinia Reserve and we will scout some Kanga Roos too. Will be nice to just sit and eat and drink a glass of wine...ok or two ! :P

Anyway i am stuffed had to work all day but am off the next 4 so woohoo. Chat soon Blog.... Kazza

Sunday Cropping with Friends

I had a great day at Matilda's Wedding Crop today. I even got something done which does not always happen cause I can't turn the tonsils OFF. Ok... I did whear my wedding stuff...well some of it that still fit .. like my earrings.. lol And Mrs Enlund looked dashing in her wedding attire too. It was a fun day even though I was a loser in the raffle stakes but A WINNER ON THE HOT TAMALI TRAIN. However... my dear friend Jacinta won an album and she is MUCH deserving of that win. She has completed 13 albums...I am SO IMPRESSED and she deserves a special award just for that!

I on the other hand will never be caught up let alone finish two albums. I have cropped for almost 9 years and have only one album completed with all covers on each page. I secretly deserve a pat on that back for that cause if you saw the state of my photos you would know it is harder than it looks. I do have many pages half completed which is a plus.

Thank you Matilda and Lisa for organising such a great day and the games were a fun addition. Can't wait till the next one. Matilda I want you to do a Halloween dress up crop .. Halloween is coming soon! I know..you probably have already organised one... Well off with my head..err off to my bed that is..I am tired and getting silly. Until we meet again my dear Blog...

Basketball Saturday

My eyes were wide open at 6AM this morning!! What the?? Hello Mr Insomnia ..it has been a while. But up I got and showered then got Mr Nick up too. WE ate and hurried to Blake's Basketball game which was a fantastic nail biter. It was a tie of 12 - 12. WE then met Peter and Matilda at Montania's in Mountain gate Shopping centre. It was YUM SCRUM and the company was great. It was good to see Peter feeling better.

We then jetted to the Rowville Community Centre to watch Miss Alimonster's game at 11:30 am. Another nail biter which we won 16 - 6. Looks like we are in the finals so VERY well played girls. We have the next 2 weeks off for school holidays and I have booked the kids in Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for Basketball skills with the Knox raiders. It should be fun for them while I work lol.

Nick and Mr Blake are now out in the garage putting together the new basketball ring we just purchased so will be interesting to watch them piece it together lol. I am off to make lunch but as promised i have added my blog for the day. It is Amanda's 40th birthday tonight and we are going to her party which should be fun fun. Anyway chat soon...

HACC - Aged Care Studies

I am enjoying my new adventure in the Aged Care 3 studies and Home Care. I have been out in the field now since first week in August and I am loving my clients. It has seen it's challenges but what a great feeling in helping others and giving back. I have been fortunate enough to have a few new Mothers which is a nice change. School is going very well with lots of homework and I am passing with flying colours. There have been 6 people who have dropped out .. so we are now schooling every other Monday. I have declined in picking up that day as a work day. I am tired and will use that as an extra study day. The council have been excellent so far to work for and really offer full support to us which is great.

I had an employee induction and had a buss ride around Knox municipality and was interesting to see all the historic sights. It was also nice to see what Knox has to offer us in the way of recreation, information, etc. My classmates are a nice bunch of people and we are all very different culturally. We get along very well and have already met for a lunch at an Irish pub which was nice. We plan to get together once a month for some down time. They are an interesting bunch and funny.

Anyway it's nice to see and spend time with you BLOG . I will try harder I promise.

Matilda's Birthday Book Exchange at Borders!

Matilda invited us all to a Birthday Book Exchange at Borders today. It was a lovely morning to meet at Gloria Jeans and have some of cake, coffee and frivolity. We drew numbers and received a book and I chose Tim Winton's "Breath". I can't wait to read it. There were some great books received and we talked about having another so we could exchange our new books with someone else. Matilda's friend Sam made a beautiful Book Worm cake. It was stunning and a nice surprise. The cake was huge and there was too much for our small party lol. It was such a nice morning and perhaps we have just started a new trend for our birthday catch ups.

Tim Winton's "Breath"

Description:

When paramedic Bruce Pike arrives too late to save a boy found hanged in his bedroom he senses immediately that this lonely death is an accident. Pike knows the difference between suicide and misadventure. He understands only too well the forces that can propel a kid toward oblivion. Not just because he's an ambulanceman but because of the life he's lived, the boy he once was, addicted to extremes, flirting with death, pushing every boundary in the struggle to be extraordinary, barely knowing where or how to stop. So begins a story about the damage you do to yourself when you're young and think you're immortal. In his first novel for seven years, Tim Winton has achieved a new level of mastery. Breath confirms him as one of the world's finest storytellers, whose work is both accessible and profound, relentlessly gripping and deeply moving. When paramedic Bruce Pike arrives too late to save a boy found hanged in his bedroom he senses immediately that this lonely death is an accident. My Very Very Lucky Husband!!

Well... Nick narrowly escaped with his life on Monday Morning due to a Permit Driver running a red light while reading his Melways (Victorian Map to all you Americans) His beautiful zippy Honda Civic Sports which is only approx 3 months old is now totaled and we are awaiting insurance to see what the next step is. Hopefully they will write if off so he can get another. It doesn't look good though and has severe damage. The air bags, front, curtains and sides saved him. Thank God for modern technology!! He is very bruised under his arm and his thumb is very swollen and bruised but he is a very lucky boy....He said he was very glad that there was not a video camera in the car while the accident happened cause he was doing alot of screaming..scared the bee geezers outa him...He was very upset about the car , he loved it and it was very economical on the Gas..but it is only a car!! The young man was taken away by ambulance and we have not heard how he is but hope to find out and we know it was an accident and a hard lesson for him.

So what we have learned after all is said and done..Never.. I mean Never ...Drive and read a Melways and or Map at the same time!!!You may not be so lucky!!

She plays for the Allstars ansd they have won both of their games since the season started. Way to go Girls Keep up the good work!

Anzac Biscuit History and Recipe ~ Just For Matilda:

ANZAC Biscuits

There are a few theories on the origins of ANZAC biscuits (or ANZAC Cookies for Americans) but it is certain that they came about during the First World War, around 1914/15.
Some say that they started as biscuits made by the Troops in the trenches with provisions they had at hand to relieve the boredom of their battle rations. And some say they came about due to resourceful of the women on the "home front" in an endeavour to make a treat for their loved ones that would survive the long journey by post to the war front.
There is even the suggestion that they originated from Scottish Oatmeal Cakes which is entirely possible. Whatever the origin, they have won the hearts of all Aussies the globe over as the pseudo National Biscuit.
And here is how to make them, it is dead simple. If I can make them, anyone can!
Ingredients
1 cup plain flour
1 cup rolled oats (regular oatmeal) uncooked
1 cup desiccated coconut
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup butter
2 tbsp golden syrup (or honey)
1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
2 tbsp boiling water
Method
Combine the flour (sifted), oats, coconut and sugar in a bowl.
Melt the butter and Golden Syrup (or honey) in a saucepan over a low heat..
Mix the bicarbonate of soda with the water and add to the butter and Golden Syrup.
Pour the liquids into the dry ingredients and mix well.
Spoon dollops of mixture, about the size of a walnut shell, onto a greased tin leaving as much space again between dollops to allow for spreading.
Bake in a moderate oven, 180C / 350F, for 15-20 minutes.
Cool on a wire rack and seal in airtight containers.
Tips
The American tablespoon is a little smaller than the British tablespoon, so be generous with your Golden Syrup (or Honey) and Water.
If you have any thoughts of keeping the biscuits for any length of time I suggest you keep them in a padlocked container!
For a little variety you may wish to add 2 teaspoons of ginger spice or even Wattle Seeds, a recent addition but don't ask me where to get them.
Mmmm, ANZAC Biscuits.
Enjoy!

Anzac Poppies and Roll of Honour

Crosscountry at Jells Park

Blake was up bright and early Saturday morning to run the 1000 metre cross country race. It was a beautiful crisp clear morning and the grounds were perfect. Not vcry hilly as in the previous weeks. He was the fourth race and it was "Bring a Friend Day". Off they went and Blake placed first place out of 58 kids. He had very hot competition with an under nine girl who was in front of him over half the race. Well Mr Competitive was not going to let this young lady win.. no way!! Too funny...he worked hard to get in front of her and placed first. See the picture .. she was driven to beat him too. What fun it was to cheer them on and right before the finish line he looked over his shoulder to see his lead on her only to realise she was right there lol.. he almost lost the race to her but prevailed in the end. Nick said she was very dissappointed that she lost due to her being in the under nines which is the older age group. She had missed her earlier race and was allowed to run in the under 7 - 8 age group race.
Well we miss everyone and hope to hear from you all soon. Chat soon. xox Kaz

Anzac Long Weekend

Hi family and friends,

Friday was Anzac Day here in Australia.

What is ANZAC Day?
ANZAC Day – 25 April – is probably Australia's most important national occasion. It marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War. ANZAC stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. The soldiers in those forces quickly became known as ANZACs, and the pride they soon took in that name endures to this day.

Why is this day special to Australians?

When war broke out in 1914 Australia had been a federal commonwealth for only 14 years. The new national government was eager to establish its reputation among the nations of the world. In 1915 Australian and New Zealand soldiers formed part of the allied expedition that set out to capture the Gallipoli peninsula to open the way to the Black Sea for the allied navies. The plan was to capture Constantinople (now Istanbul), the capital of the Ottoman Empire and an ally of Germany. They landed at Gallipoli on 25 April, meeting fierce resistance from the Turkish defenders. What had been planned as a bold stroke to knock Turkey out of the war quickly became a stalemate, and the campaign dragged on for eight months. At the end of 1915 the allied forces were evacuated after both sides had suffered heavy casualties and endured great hardships. Over 8,000 Australian soldiers were killed. News of the landing at Gallipoli made a profound impact on Australians at home and 25 April quickly became the day on which Australians remembered the sacrifice of those who had died in war.
Although the Gallipoli campaign failed in its military objectives of capturing Constantinople and knocking Turkey out of the war, the Australian and New Zealand actions during the campaign bequeathed an intangible but powerful legacy. The creation of what became known as the "ANZAC legend" became an important part of the national identity of both nations. This shaped the ways they viewed both their past and future.

Early commemorations

The date, 25 April, was officially named ANZAC Day in 1916 and was marked by a wide variety of ceremonies and services in Australia, a march through London, and a sports day in the Australian camp in Egypt. In London over 2,000 Australian and New Zealand troops marched through the streets. A London newspaper headline dubbed them "The knights of Gallipoli". Marches were held all over Australia in 1916. Wounded soldiers from Gallipoli attended the Sydney march in convoys of cars, attended by nurses. For the remaining years of the war, ANZAC Day was used as an occasion for patriotic rallies and recruiting campaigns, and parades of serving members of the AIF were held in most cities.

During the 1920s ANZAC Day became established as a national day of commemoration for the 60,000 Australians who died during the war. The first year in which all states observed some form of public holiday together on ANZAC Day was 1927. By the mid-1930s all the rituals we today associate with the day – dawn vigils, marches, memorial services, reunions, two-up games – were firmly established as part of ANZAC Day culture.
With the coming of the Second World War, ANZAC Day was used to also commemorate the lives of Australians lost in that war. In subsequent years the meaning of the day has been further broadened to include Australians killed in all the military operations in which Australia has been involved.
ANZAC Day was first commemorated at the Memorial in 1942 but, due to government orders preventing large public gatherings in case of Japanese air attack, it was a small affair and was neither a march nor a memorial service. ANZAC Day has been annually commemorated at the Memorial ever since.
What does it mean today?
Australians recognise 25 April as an occasion of national commemoration. Commemorative services are held at dawn – the time of the original landing – across the nation. Later in the day, ex-servicemen and women meet and join in marches through the major cities and many smaller centres. Commemorative ceremonies are held at war memorials around the country. It is a day when Australians reflect on the many different meanings of war.
Dawn Service
The Dawn Service observed on ANZAC Day has its origins in an operational routine which is still observed by the Australian Army today. During battle, the half-light of dawn was one of the most favoured times for an attack. Soldiers in defensive positions were, therefore, woken up in the dark, before dawn, so by the time first light crept across the battlefield they were awake, alert, and manning their weapons. This was, and still is, known as "stand-to". It was also repeated at sunset.

After the First World War, returned soldiers sought the comradeship they felt in those quiet, peaceful moments before dawn. With symbolic links to the dawn landing at Gallipoli, a dawn stand-to or ceremony became a common form of ANZAC Day remembrance during the 1920s; the first official dawn service was held at the Sydney Cenotaph in 1927. Dawn services were originally very simple and followed the operational ritual. In many cases they were restricted to veterans only and the daytime ceremony was for families and other well-wishers. Before dawn the gathered veterans would be ordered to "stand to" and two minutes' silence would follow. At the end of this time a lone bugler would play the Last Post and then concluded the service with Reveille. In more recent times the families and young people have been encouraged to take part in dawn services, and services in Australian capital cities have seen some of the largest turnouts ever. Reflecting this change, the ceremonies have become more elaborate, incorporating hymns, readings, pipers, and rifle volleys. Others, though, have retained the simple format of the dawn stand-to, familiar to so many soldiers.

The ANZAC Day ceremony

Each year the commemorations follow a pattern that is familiar to each generation of Australians. A typical ANZAC Day service contains the following features: introduction, hymn, prayer, an address, laying of wreaths, recitation, Last Post, a period of silence, Rouse or Reveille, and the national anthem. At the Memorial, families often place red poppies beside the names of relatives on the Memorial's Roll of Honour after events such as the ANZAC Day and Remembrance Day services.

Cross Country at Norton's Park

Hi everyone, We got up bright and early to meet at Norton's Park off of High Street for Blake's second Saturday of Cross Country. It was a bit cooler than I thought and was quite glad I had my HOT cup of Choco bean coffee and coat! I love that skinny cafe latte. Blake was in the first race of the morning and it was a very hilly terrain. He was a bit daunted about it because usually the course is quite level. So it was going to be an interesting race. There were 11 under 7 boys and 16 under 7 girls,. They also run with the under 8 girls and boys and there were approx . 20 of them so quite a big turn out.

Blake placed 2nd in the race but was first in his age group. His time was a bit slower due to the hilly course but he did really well. I think he was a bit surprised how much harder it was with this kind of course. His friend Reece came in 2nd and Kaya placed 3rd for the under 7's. The three of them are very competitive in athletics but are great mates and very supportive of each other which is very nice to see. So nice to see them shake hands after the meet and congratulate each other ..no matter where they place. All our training as parents is paying off lol. The Manner police has done her job so far..hehehe. Next week they will be back at Jell's Park so should be fun.

Alissa stayed the Night at Yaya and Papou's house and was having a sleep in as we were freezing at the park lol. It did end up being quite a nice warm day and we never got the bad weather that was forecasted. We then headed off to The Glenn for a spot of shopping..which Nick no doubt just loves... It is just so busy on a Saturday so we didn't stay long and ended up having lunch at our Favourite Vietnamese restaurant called "Indochine". We had our Bun salad.. All I can say is YUM SCRUM!!! I am so going to find out how to make this and make it at home.

After wards, we headed over to Kareen and Arthur's place for a cuppa. They have listed their home and purchased a nice block of property a few streets away. They will build a new home on it. Looks great. Hopefully, the building side of things will go quickly for them. Maybe Nick will be interested in selling here and building in the future....ugh NOT! lol We love where we are cause everything is so convenient but I secretly would love a new house. I love the old farm style homes /cottages near the beaches. Maybe that will be our plan for when we boot the kids out at 18....lol.

Tomorrow morning we have Blake's under 9's football game at 9 am.. fun fun. WE DO NOT SLEEP IN AT THIS HOUSE!! He is having a ball playing footy and it's good to chat and catch up with the parents while we are there. Mind you Nick does the duty for footy which is a load off my shoulders..Bit of the princess I am lol. Hopefully the weather will hold out.

I am taking Alissa out of school on Tuesday and we will be touring Mater Christi ..a private girls school in Belgrave. She will go to this school (if accepted) for year 7 thru 12. It is a very nice school and has a huge selection of sports.. especially softball which she loves so she was quite surprised about that. She desperately wants to go to the public school near her primary school but this will not happen. We can only hope it will all work out for her. Jessica Bouloukis (Ali's godparents daughter) is going there and started this year and loves it. She has a few girlfriends who are hoping to go here also so should be fun to watch it all unfold. The plan is for Blake to go to St Joseph's ..which is the private boys school and is affiliated with Mater Christi. Quite a few of Blake's friends will go here also . I have included an arial view of Mater Christi.

Mater Christi is not very far from here and is near the Puffing Billy Steam Train. Mom and Dad..remember we went on that train a couple of times when you visited..? It's near there. I really like Belgrave..very quiet and there is a lovely coffee place I go to with the Mum's sometimes. Has a recycled book store next door. Love it....

I will continue my job hunting in the week. Am trying to redo and update my resume so I can post it out to a few jobs I am looking at. Well... Nick and Kids are watching the footy and I will go and try and sort some of my photos for cropping. I am going away to Phillip Island at the end of may for a retreat. We will go for 3 days ..should be fun. All the ladies that go every year are so fun. There is about 45 of us all and Dawn will be coming in from Singapore also. Will be good to catch up with her. They are in Singapore for 2 years. I think she is homesick and she says it is very hot and muggy there.

Any way Chat soon. I missed a week or so and didn't write. Am very impressed that Kareen is reading the blog :P (you are full of surprises lol). Bye for now....

School Holiday

Hi all..Nick got home early today to do a bit of work at home. It's nice to have him home working and doesn't happen often. He wanted to take the kids to a movie. I suggested "the Spiderwick Chronicles" so we booked online and got our tickets. Matilda joined us ..which is always a fun thing. We now buy our tickets online because we don't have to stand in those pathetically long lines where there are only 2 people selling tickets. Tuesday nights are the cheap nights to go to the movies so you can imagine how busy that night is and they never put enough people on to work. But now that we buy tickets online (which i suggest to everyone) it saves us the stress. Unfortunately, Peter was not able to make it. We loved the movie but Blake was a bit scared and was covering his ears. I know .. he should cover his eyes but for some reason the noise affects him more lol. The monsters were scary though but the movie was very good. Steven Spielberg is a genius. It is a must see for all.

We then went to the Dragon Boat for dinner and had yummy Peking Duck. Afterwards, we raced home to watch the Biggest Loser and Bondi Rescue. The kids love those two shows. (Ok so do we) They didn't disappoint. Well, the weather is miserable here today so our bike ride I planned will not happen. It not only is raining but very windy and cold. Good thing for PlayStation 2..mind you I now have to strategically work out how to get the kids not to fight about which game to play and who has had more time on the game..blah blah blah

Until my next blog...have a great wet day!

i found this cute picture of Alissa the other day. Hard to remember her this little.

KLAC Championships

Blake had a fantastic day at the Athletics track yesterday. He competed in 4 events...400 Metre run, Long Jump, Triple Jump and 70 Metre run. We arrived bright and EARLY to the track. Weather was VERY cold and rain was upon us but we hoped it would hold off for the day. We do need rain but hard to compete on a wet track. Blake placed 1st place in all his events and walked away with a whopping 4 GOLD Medals. We are so proud of him. It did end up raining, however not hard enough for them to call the track meet. It was Freezing though!! Blake also ran Personal Bests in two events ..the long jump and triple jump ...so a job well done. We have a Knox Presentation Day today and Blake will receive his Gold medal. He holds 37 personal bests. The Club President approached me to confirm that he will be running with the club next year and praised his athletic abilities which I thought was very nice.
He will start Cross Country next month so that is exciting. They run in all different park locations around the Knox area. Nick is a very proud Dad. He specialised in athletics when he was young too. He still holds a Doncaster High School Club Record in the long jump after 28 years or so. Nick's friend.. Ashley...his son Justen who goes to that high school... told us not to long ago that he still held it lol. Nick was very proud indeed . Now Blake needs to break that long jump record. Anyway, Enough of my boasting..I will get off my soap box and head off to the presentation day. Will let ya know how he did. Chat soon

Blake gets his First Blood Test

Hello everyone... Well, we were up bright and early this morning to head down to the Gribbles Pathology Lab to get blood tests. I thought I was very clever to get there early to beat the crowd..YEAH RIGHT...approx. 20 people ahead of me. Oh well...we took our number and sat to wait.. Thanks to Alison she has taught me SUDUKO and I had it on my phone ..so was a great time killer. Imagine what I have gone thru already just to get Master Blake to this appointment.I had to try to reassure him it wasn't going to hurt, he would survive and he was very brave. However...he begged to differ with me ...Blatantly told me he is not Brave ..so maybe we could just forget about it! lol But of course, he did as he was told ( I know you all are very impressed about his behaviour and minding skills). Chez was our resident vampire and she was awesome with Blake. She had quite the personality and he felt very comfortable with her. I said I would go first but she said No... the child must go first lol. Blake didn't like that but he hesitantly got up in that chair and did as Chez told him too. After it was all over...she gave him a Bravery Certificate which was pretty special to a little child..I was thinking forget that crap WHERE"S THE LOLLIES?? lol I on the other hand got a big fat NOTHING! Now how unfair is that lol. And I did point out that she took more blood from me than Blake..she just laughed and shook her head...Still don't know what she was thinking lol. So now we wait for 48 hours to get results. Should be interesting..

After a little grocery shopping ( Which is not the most exciting thing to do with a 7 year old with a case of the " I Wants"!) I finally got home to relax..only to then finish off the much needed house work that didn't get done on the weekend. Nick has rented a new release video for us tonight. The one with Kurt Russell "Death Proof" SCARY!!!! but looks good. Why is it all the good looking male movie stars get the low budget films once they start to age....very sad.. I will give you my critic's review once I watch it lol. Well, I will close now. We are off to see a movie with Kareen and kids tomorrow morning at 10:15 am and then lunch.. so should be fun. School holidays are well and truly in session! Have a great night and leave a message if you are reading this. Cheers kaz

First Term School Holidays Start Today

Good Morning all! I was able to have a little bit of a sleep in this morning ... which never happens for me but was well received after my long weekend with the Easter Carnival. I planned on doing a BIG FAT NOTHING but have decided to take the kids to a friends place for a play and lunch. Nothing better than to have the run of someone else's house and leave the chaos behind to head back home to a tidy , quiet home. LOL Mind you ...I have had many get together's at my house in the past and some times on my cleaning binges (they don't happen often enough.. so my hubby thinks) I may find a lollie wrapper or two from the past get together. A big pat on the back to me for surviving the weekend and being positive for the upcoming two weeks of holidays with the kids. We have a few things planned and should be interesting. Blake will have a big Athletics meet bright and early on Saturday morning. The KLAC Championships are quite a big event and hopefully the weather will be good ..because it has been for casted for much needed rain all week. He is very excited. He has broken 2 clubs records and also broke his own club record once lol. Michael Best held a 400 metre record of 123.36 for 4 years and Blake broke his record with a time of 121.50 in the 400 metre event. Tim O'Bryen held the 400 metre Walk record of 238.88 which he held for 7 years . Blake broke his 400 metre walk record with a time of 2.29.37 on March 1st, 2008 only to break his own club record a week later by a whopping 9 seconds . That new club record is 2.19.09. He is very quick and I say he is aerodynamic because he is so skinny lol. He loves Athletics and already has received lots of medals. We are very proud of both our kids. I truly believe kids and sports a great combination.
Well time to sign out. Will have to get the kids off the PlayStation 2 and organised. They don't often play so nicely together on that thing lol so hate to break up the sister and brotherly love I am witnessing at this moment (knowing it only lasts a short time). Mind you .. I am known to jump in and sing along on the Sing Star. Why don't my kids like to sing YMCA with me?? Or the Elvis tracks...lol I am an expert at those songs according to Sing Star..not sure if that's a good thing or not.. Chat soon :P

Easter Carnival at Jell's Park

My 4 day long weekend for Easter was spent being a Team Manager for the Waverley Blue Sox under 12 girls Softball Team. It was hard work but great fun. 12 games played and the team lost all games however, gained so much experience and did great for their first carnival. many new friends made and all the families were excellent helpers. The weather was fantastic but of course typical Karen skin....I came out looking like an Oompa Loompa.. no matter how much sun screen I applied loll. It was well worth the tiredness, sleep deprivation, bad hat head and pure exhaustion to see the big smiles on the girls faces. Lots of laughter (a few tears) Yuck food from the pavilion..but yummy Dippin Dots (ice cream for all those that don't know!) Oh and excellent coffees from the coffee van ..which was a pleasant surprise. Nothing compares to our Starbucks!!
Alissa did so well ..I am very proud of her. She is an EXCELLENT 1st base woman (let's be politically correct) and she was even able to hit several very fast pitches (those girls are unbelievable!) and scores a few runs and even slid into home plate! Was very exciting but everyone will be proud of me..I controlled myself loll..still have a voice to prove it however may have a couple undetected gray hairs after the weekend lol. if you see them please do not comment!! Anyway besides getting hugs from all the girls at the end I received a nice bottle of white wine (very thoughtful) and a nice little Waverley cooler bag with the details of the Carnival imprinted on it. I did end up riding my bike tonight for 5 kms ..love my new bike. but am now very tired and will head off to sleep. Catch you on the next blog!
